About

We live in a scientific world, and though we may be a rather ageing lot, we are not without curiosity – about our planet, our food, our inventions, about how things work and what scientific marvels underpin our very existence.

We welcome all members with a curious mind. If you have ever wondered why the earth turns on its axis once every 24 hours, why non-stick pans are non-stick, why oil floats on water, why the human brain is cleverer than the biggest computer, why nanotechnology is a BIG THING, then this is the group for you.

The meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 1400 in the Scout and Guide HQ. All U3A members are most welcome; you do not have to join the group, just come along if the topic interests you. Cost £1 to cover room costs and refreshments.
